Michael Thomas Crisostomo Hey currently studies organ at The Juilliard School in the class of Paul Jacobs, chairman of the department and recent Grammy award winner. He is a full-tuition recipient in his fourth year and has been accepted into the highly selective Accelerated B.M./M.M. Program. He presently serves as assistant organist at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in Manhattan.

He gave his official New York City debut in November 2010 at Lincoln Center performing a Handel organ concerto with the Juilliard Orchestra under the direction of Sir Nicholas McGegan. InSeen and Heard International, Stan Metzger wrote "… the first piece [gave] the soloist, Michael Hey, the opportunity to show his talents. Mr. Hey performed admirably, playing without a score in front of him and making the music seem improvisatory in the way that Handel might have played it."

In July 2011 he received first prize in the Regional Competition for Young Organists at the American Guild of Organists' regional convention in Morristown, New Jersey and subsequently performed a solo recital on WMBC-TV. The following year he performed at the Guild's national convention in Nashville, Tennessee.

He has been featured on "The Wanamaker Hour," broadcast on Philadelphia's WRTI-FM playing the world's largest pipe organ. For the past two years he has collaborated in Juilliard's annual FOCUS! Festival for contemporary music.

Mr. Hey performs solo organ and piano concerts throughout the country. He is preparing another recital in the series Great Piano Music by the Piano's Greatest Composers at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Curtis Stotlar. He particularly enjoys transcribing, premiering new music, and performing with other musicians.
