This tour is rather unusual for the Wisconsin Chapter, particularly in that historic organs are well in the minority. The two we will be seeing, the Skinner and the Welte, are fantastic instruments that everyone will want to take for a spin. In addition, we are visiting a unique four manual tracker, the largest tracker designed by German-born organ builder Gerhard Brunzema. Rounding things out are a smaller instrument also designed by Brunzema, and an example of the work of California builder Abbott and Sieker. For many years, this was the only example of their work within a thousand miles; recently one has been relocated to southern Illinois (still a very long drive). This tour also includes a first, in that our final stop is just over the border into Illinois.
The cost for the tour is $10.00, payable at the beginning of the tour; this does not include meals. Reservations for the tour may be had by contacting Fr. Tom Lijewski at St. Mary Church (see above for telephone number). The technical information for this tour has been gathered during previous visits.
