3 pm - MacDowell Club - Polish Music Program

POLISH MUSIC PROGRAM

The MacDowell Club of Milwaukee continues its 102^nd season with a concert devoted entirely to the music of Polish composers.  Curated by Gail Hodkiewicz, it will encompass compositions dating from 1810 to those of living musicians.  Represented will be Tadeusz Baird, Frederic Chopin, Henryk Mikolaj Gorecki,  Miecyslaw Karlowicz, Stanislaw Moniusko, Robert Muczynski, and Ignacy Jan Paderewski., and Karol Szymanowski.

Performing these works are MacDowell Club members flutists Carolyn Atwell (Menomonee Falls) and Ana de la Cuesta (Bay View);  pianist Robbi Heighway-Nebel (Waukesha);  clarinetist Gail Hodkiewicz (Hales Corners);  pianist Mariann Landa (Wauwatosa);  mezzo-soprano Julie Maurer (South Milwaukee); accompanist Carla Coonan (Bayside); as well as guests, cellist Kirsti Pajunen (Wauwatosa) and pianist Francis Wasielewski (Milwaukee).

The MacDowell Club of Milwaukee supports and encourages musical accomplishment and is open to everyone.  During the regular concert season, it presents its members in an annual series of public programs at various venues throughout the Greater Milwaukee Community.  Occasional Houseconcerts are held in private homes for members and their guests.
