Organ Concert


The Wisconsin Chapter of the Organ Historical Society and the Milwaukee Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will co-sponsor a concert by David Bohn on the 1885 William Schuelke organ at St. Francis Church, corner of Fourth and Brown Streets, Milwaukee, on November 1st at 3:00PM. The concert will include the premieres of fifteen new organ works, organized as part of the “Fifteen Minutes of Fame” series sponsored by the Composers Voice organization in New York.  39 composers from 13 countries submitted one-minute compositions for organ; from this pool, Dr. Bohn has selected the following 15 pieces for performance.

In addition, Dr. Bohn will perform:

About the artist:

A native of Wisconsin, David Bohn received degrees in composition from the University of Wisconsin, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and the University of Illinois. His primary composition teachers were Joel Naumann, Yehuda Yannay, and William Brooks. He currently resides in West Allis, Wisconsin, and is organist and choir director St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Milwaukee. He is President of the Wisconsin Alliance for Composers, Vice President of the Wisconsin Chapter of the Organ Historical Society, and on the boards of the Milwaukee Chapter of the Organ Historical Society and the American Guild of Organists -- Milwaukee Chapter. He also edits the newsletter for the Wisconsin OHS.
